True North Soul Care is the counselling ministry of West London Alliance Church. TNSC is an approved Biblical Counselling Training Center for the Association of Biblical Counsellors.
Outcome
The Level 1 Foundations projected outcome is to equip and coach men and women to increase their quality of soul care within informal and formal counselling settings. We envision singles and married, fathers and mothers, ministry leaders and small group leaders, pastors/staff and elders benefiting from the training to help support the ongoing growth of soul care in the church.
Experience
The training will include a full-range of learning experiences including in-person classroom teaching, self-directed learning, online teaching, and group reflection.
Level 1 Foundations Enrollment Options
- ENRICHMENT (In-Person):
West London Alliance Church members can participate in-person for the “Biblical Counselling Enrichment (BCE)” Level 1 Certificate. Over 6 training sessions, the BCE students will cover the basics of ETC with practical application for ministry in the local church. The first semester will run classes monthly on Saturday’s from 9-11:30am over October to December 2024. The 2nd Semester classes will run monthly over January to March 2025. This is designed to introduce biblical counselling in non-formal settings, and provide training to increase the quality of care in our local church. There are reflection assignments, but no extensive reading, papers, or exams. WLA Church will provide a Biblical Counselling Enrichment Foundations certificate for individuals that complete the required attendance, classroom training, and introduction readings and assignments.

- CERTIFICATION (Online & Group Interaction):
TNSC is partnering with the Gospel Care Collective to run this training. The “Equipped To Counsel (ETC)” Level 1 Certification is for individuals that would like to invest in certification training for biblical counselling within informal and formal settings. The ETC students will cover the core content, complete a wide range of assignments, participate in a mini-practicum with mentoring, and take exams for each semester. The Association of Biblical Counsellors will provide an Equipped To Counsel Level 1- Biblical Counselling certification recognized internationally.
